Classes for 3-5yr olds |
The School takes a special interest in the careful training of the young. The programme introduces the child to the basic structures of dance and stresses co-ordination, musicality, mime and creative movement. |

Classes for 5+ |
From the age of 5 children are invited to take examinations in the Royal Academy of Dance from Pre-Primary to Grade 8. We also invite students to take vocational examinations from Intermediate Foundation through to Advanced 2. |

Modern is a fun and expressive form of dance encompassing many varying rhythms and musical styles. This genre develops the flexibility and strength necessary to master the differing components of this genre such as body isolations, limbering and amalgamations. |

The Ballet Centre offers full training at all levels in the ISTD Modern Theatre Syllabi leading to the opportunity to take an ISTD examination in this genre.

All pupils enrolling for the tap classes at The Ballet Centre will be required to wear the appropriate footwear, which is hard shoe with metal heel and toe plates.

Jazz is a fun and energetic form of dance which showcases a dancer's individual style and originality, whilst ballet movement emphasizes the upbeat of music, jazz dance emphasizes the downbeat. The music styles range from hip hop to recent chart music which incorporated into the jazz class makes this a popular dance style with children, encouraging them to add their own personality to the unique and fun steps utilized in this genre. |

Irish dancing offers children a fun way of learning a new skill. Our classes provide the opportunity for students to learn a variety of Irish Dance styles
from traditional jigs and reels to contemporary show dance. This unique style of folk dancing , stemming from early Irish culture, became popularized by shows such as Riverdance and is now internationally practiced. Modern styles combine traditional steps with the latest trends, producing a lively entertainment for all. |

Rhythmic Gymnastics is an Olympic Sport that combines the beauty, flow and elegance of ballet with the athleticism and acrobatic elements of gymnastics. A highly skilled rhythmic gymnast possesses the strength and endurance of a seasoned athlete, yet is able to display the grace of a ballerina. Intense gymnastics and ballet training are instrumental to the success of a rhythmic gymnast. The level of ballet skill of an Olympic caliber rhythmic gymnast rivals that of a prima ballerina. |
